Total raised for the Children's Home in Elche to over €900

elcheAND BLINGING GOOD IT WAS! Taking the total raised for the Children's Home in Elche to over €900, Quesada Country Club was once again the venue for a great charity night out, Anne Day the organiser of The Cinderella Bling Ball said: "I was very pleased to see so many people having a good time and as always with PDQ and The Variety Show Group the 95 guests really did dance the night away!!!

Once up and dancing to the sounds of PDQ not many get chance to sit down again!!" The Cinderella Bling Ball held last Friday was to raise money for The Childeren's Home in Elche and many thanks go to The Variety Show Group who performed a wonderful show during the evening. The Variety Show Group now five members and led by Eileen Carpenter-Walker have done several shows this year all to raise money for the children. Many thanks to all the Jamie Olivers and Delia Smiths who entered the pudding competition - Maddie Pinfold was the winner for the second year running with her fabulous Bread Pudding. Maddie's prize was Sunday lunch for two at QCC and a beautiful indoor plant from Diamond Flores. Many thanks to the sponsors of our raffle prizes, Panache Hair and Beauty, Reeves Butchers, The Vestry, Let's Eat and Eileen Wallace who donated two prizes. Jose Antonio Gonzalez, better known as Pepe Barcelo, Managing Director of Grupo Barceló building company and Real Estate Agency in Ciudad Quesada was the main sponsor for event and continuing the cookery theme he donated a "cook it yourself" Turkey Dinner for two as well as providing all the table decorations which just happened to be in his company colours red yellow and green! Pepe is now going to sponsor the next event which is a Black and White Sixties Night on Friday February 8th. Once again PDQ will be the band and guests will be asked to enter into the spirit of the Sixties Night by dressing the part whilst also trying to stick to the Black and White colour theme! We hope this will be a magical evening as we have also invited along the wonderful magician Graeme Mykal who will do table magic during the evening.

Tickets for this next event are €13.50 and are on sale now - once again the raffle and any fundraising at this event will be to support the children, Pepe along with several of the guests are keen to hear more about the "The Garden Project" which we hope to start in February, the idea is first to get a working party together and then help and guide the children and young adults to grow some of their own food. If you are interested to hear more about the garden project or if you would like tickets for the Black and White Sixties Night, which is three courses and a bottle of wine between two please email Anne Day at This email address is being protected from spambots.
