Xativa has a new device to treat chronic glaucoma

Chief of Ophthalmology, Miguel Angel Almela said that this new  technology will enable "a more accurate diagnosis"
Xativa Hospital  is fortunate to have one of the best technologies in eye care for diagnosis, monitoring and treatment of serious diseases such as chronic glaucoma.
This disease, which affects nearly 16% of the population over 65 years, is the second leading cause of blindness in Spain, after diabetic retinopathy. Glaucoma is an eye disorder in which the optic nerve is damaged, permanently damaging vision in the affected eye(s) and progressing to complete blindness if untreated. It is often, but not always, associated with increased pressure of the fluid in the eye.
The new technology detects the disease quickly and easily in order to treat it on time.
