On 6th February, Emilio’s Bar & Restaurante (previously Mambo) opened its doors on the Paseo Maritimo in Alcossebre for the first time. Since that day, the new owners, husband & wife team Shaun & Avril Lane, along with their attentive staff, have quickly built a reputation for good quality homemade food and value for money. As well as being one of Alcossebre’s  most frequented bars, Friday and Saturday evenings have been set aside to provide an a la carte dining experience with the restaurant cleverly screened from the bar area by a series of stylish Japanese panels, which, along with the candlelight, soft music and artwork by Richette Mathis, make for a truly intimate eating experience with skilfully thought out menus and informed wine choices being the order of the evening. Throughout the week, a constantly changing and imaginative lunchtime menu offers diners the opportunity to enjoy the sea view whilst sipping a glass of wine and tucking into something caringly prepared in anticipation of their arrival. Sunday lunch services are also proving very popular with homemade pies and succulent cuts of meat gracing the menus for Emilio’s customers to enjoy. Chef owners, Shaun & Avril have a very clear vision on what they want  to achieve; “We want Emilio’s to be considered as Alcossebre’s first Gastro Pub. A place where friends can meet and simply enjoy a casual drink or choose to have a high quality meal depending on their mood.” With meals using ingredients such as handmade pasta and authentic Indian baltis on the menu, it’s evident that a lot of love is put into the food made by this partnership. Their enthusiasm for their product is evident, whether its Shaun’s handmade sausages and smoked fish or Avril’s devilishly naughty desserts or delicately made starter dishes. They hope that you too will share their enthusiasm if you decide to pop through the doors and sample some of what Emilio’s has to offer.
